I have always been drawn to old black and white photos, particularly from an old family album or textbook. I remember seeing a photo of my grandmother when she was in her early 20’s and thinking how beautiful (and young!) she was. I have no idea who took that photo, but it really resonated with me because I felt like I was with her in that happy moment. Even though I wasn’t born yet, I felt a sense of connection to her that was both special and nostalgic.
That images continues to inspire me as a wedding photographer , and my mission is to give you photos that leave you feeling the same way. As your wedding photographer, I will put a lot of time and effort into getting to know you so I can tell YOUR story in a way that highlights your unique personalities on one of the most significant days of you life.
My approach to wedding photography is to not only capture heartfelt images of you and your loved one but also to give you a great experience. You are not just another date on my calendar. I am 100% there for you, even if it that means fixing buttons your dress or quickly running to the lobby to pick up food delivery. I’m there for it all- before, during, and after.
When you work with me, I usually dive right in because I have a server case of FOMO and I never want to miss a single moment! Initially, I’ll appear to blend right in to the environment so I can focus on the raw, organic moments of getting ready or those small details we don’t want to miss! But when the time comes, l’ll pull you away for those gorgeous portraits and to take advantage of the best lighting. I go after every opportunity for that jaw dropping image and I’m not afraid to climb on, over, or around things in order to do so
I work best with couples who are fun and laid-back, and who don’t mind if the bottom of their dress (or pants!) gets a little dirty in order to get in the most amazing shots. Truthfully, I find that I gravitate more towards smaller, intimate weddings but there is also something to be said about larger weddings as well! Regardless, I’ll work closely with you to come up with a timeline for the day that suits your needs. At the end of the day (or evening, I should say!), I love capturing love in a way that is special and means something to you.
Pricing depends on a lot of different factors, particularly what type of service you are looking for and the amount of coverage you want. Engagement sessions start at $600, whereas wedding packages can range anywhere from $1,800 for minimal coverage or more intimate weddings to $6,000 for more inclusive coverage. Couples typically spend about $4,000 on average for a traditional wedding day.
If you’d like a more specific quote, tell me a little more about yourself as well as what you are looking for on your big day!
I currently live in Chicago, but I travel back to New England quite frequently- so both the midwest and the east coast 🙂
Sure do! I travel anywhere within the U.S. and I have a valid passport if you’re planning a destination 🙂
Yes! I love getting together with my clients before the big day- if timing and location work out, of course. It helps me get to know you, which will allow me to highlight your personality in my work.
I use a Canon R6 along with a variety of lenses, my favorite being my 24-70 mm. I also carry a flash if or when I need it, and I use two SD cards at all times.
I typically deliver my galleries within 4-6 weeks of your wedding date via a private online gallery
Unfortunately I do not allow my clients to have access to the RAW files. For one, several of them tend to be photos that did not make the final cut (i.e. eyes closed, funny faces, etc), and they also require special software to view them properly.
Lastly, I put a lot of time and effort into the post processing to get your photos to look the way they are 🙂 You’ll enjoy them much better as the RAW files are not always as exciting.
Of course! A second shooter is available for additional coverage- particularly for the groomsmen getting ready, different perspectives at the ceremony, and to help cover larger wedding receptions. A la carte pricing for a second shooter is ~$500 for the day, but are often included in my packages.
A lot! 🙂 Although it depends on what you are looking for. Most of my packages include engagement/couples photos, a second shooter, a wedding album, and an allotted travel credit (if applicable).
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me for a more customized quote!
Technically, you don’t have to…BUT I’ll always take you up on that offer. Shooting weddings often requires long hours and truthfully, I’m pretty hungry come dinner time. I’d hate to miss something important because I’m running out to get a bite to eat or eating something in my car 🙂
I usually book weddings up to a year in advance, and I only take on a certain number of weddings per year. If you love my work and we are a good fit, I do encourage you to book sooner rather than later in order to secure your date. Nothing is worse than having to decline a dream client because their date was already booked 🙁
If you love my work but feel like it’s a short notice- please reach out anyway! Sometimes I have a spontaneous day open, or I can try to arrange my personal schedule to fit in a smaller pop-up wedding nearby.
First of all, thank you!
Second of all, YES I do! Believe it or not that’s where I first started my professional photography career…and I still love it to this day.
While I focus a lot on weddings, I also do family/newborn sessions on occasion during the week…but it is often kept local to Chicago. If this is something you are interested in, please check out my separate family photography website for more information.
